Building a Talent Knowledge Network

At OnFrontiers’ SaaS department, we partnered with Chemonics to build a talent knowledge network—a system designed to help them better map internal expertise and optimize workforce allocation. The challenge was making sure employees, regardless of technical proficiency, could easily showcase their skills while giving managers a clear, high-level view of available talent.

The Problem

Chemonics relied on in-person networking to secure contracts and assemble expert teams. When COVID-19 halted face-to-face interactions, their speed in forming teams dropped. Their fragmented internal talent directory couldn’t keep up, making it hard to identify and mobilize expertise efficiently.

Our Solution: A Streamlined Talent Network

We designed a modern system to:

- Structure expertise with a clear skills taxonomy.
- Showcase consultant profiles for easy team assembly.
- Ensure accessibility across devices, regions, and internet speeds.

Working with Chemonics’ Director of Innovation, we prioritized usability and clarity to help users navigate this new platform seamlessly.
